Cha Yun-do is a copyrighted martial art form. It is registered with and protected under U.S. Copyright statutes.
Christian Martial Arts Fellowship is a properly registered and protected name with the State of Michigan.
Cha Yun-do was developed in the late 1980's. No one may use it in part or in whole without written permission. This includes all trademarks and graphics as well as any and all written or verbally transmitted policies, directives, definitions, manuals or materials developed in conjunction with Cha Yun-do.
The name "Christian Martial Arts Fellowship" was developed shortly after the Art. The first training school was opened in 1989.
Our position is that Christians should not and would not defraud one another purposefully in any manner. This includes the unauthorized use of the Art of Cha Yun Do and the unauthorized use of the name Christian Martial Arts Fellowship. We rely on the Bible as the qualifier in this area, 1st Corinthians 6:7-11 and 1st Thessalonians 4:6-8 being primary examples
If there is any question as to the authenticity of the school or instructors or their having authorization to use the Art of Cha Yun-do or the name Christian Martial Arts Fellowship, we suggest, before making any agreements or enrolling, you ask to see their signed and stamped "Certificate of Affiliation." Each Chief Instructor receives one for each school, each year. The certificate is only valid for one year.
If they do not have the proper certificate, they are not approved to use Cha Yun-do in any fashion nor the name Christian Martial Arts Fellowship.
